Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the successful rollout of the Ramadan Relief Package 2025, which introduced digital wallets to ensure fair and transparent fund distribution across Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
So far, 79% of the allocated funds have been distributed, and authorities have resolved more than 1,200 complaints. A massive awareness campaign helped spread the message to millions of people through robocalls, SMS alerts, and outbound calls.
One of the key highlights of this initiative is the use of digital payments. Around 1.9 million transactions have been completed, providing direct financial support to over 800,000 women and individuals with disabilities. This effort not only provided much-needed relief during Ramadan but also played a significant role in advancing Pakistan’s journey towards digital financial inclusion.
By leveraging technology, the government ensured that funds reached those who needed them the most without any middlemen. This transparent system reduced delays, minimized corruption risks, and made financial assistance more accessible to underprivileged communities.
The success of the Ramadan Relief Package 2025 reflects Pakistan’s commitment to modernizing its financial infrastructure and promoting digital solutions. It highlights the importance of digital wallets in delivering social welfare programs efficiently.
As Pakistan continues its digital transformation, initiatives like these pave the way for a more inclusive and transparent financial system, benefiting the country’s most vulnerable populations.
