12 Killed, 80 Injured In Madagascar Stadium Stampede

During the opening ceremony of the Indian Ocean Island Games in the East African country of Madagascar, 12 people were killed and 80 people were injured due to a stampede.

According to foreign media reports, there was a large crowd of fans outside the stadium, 12 people were killed, 11 people were in critical condition, and 80 people were injured in the stampede at the entrance.

The Prime Minister of Madagascar, who was present at the stadium on the occasion of the accident, described the accident as tragic while calling for a minute’s silence for the loss of precious lives.

He said that the state is bearing the medical expenses of the injured. I express my condolences to all the affected families.

It should be noted that the eleventh edition of the Indian Ocean Island Games will be held from August 25 to September 3.
