A 56-year-old Liang Shi, a millionaire, failed for the 27th time to pass “Gaokao”, an entrance exam in China. Liang Shi is a self-made billionaire who wishes to fulfill his dream of attending Sichuan University but keeps getting failed at its entrance exam.
Liang has spent the past four decades in preparing himself for gaokao giving 12 hours per day for exam preparation. He also sacrificed his habits of drinking and playing mahjong to give his best. The continuous failure has brought the millionaire huge criticism, with some calling him a “gaokao holdout”.
Despite his efforts, Liang failed the test by 34 points to get admission to any university this year. Earlier, he anticipated that he would not achieve a score fair enough to get him into any of China’s elite institutes however, Liang did not see failure to get a place at an ordinary university as well.
