Goodbye To Whoop? As Apple Launches Its Most Accurate Watch ‘Ultra 4’

Apple has introduced the Apple Watch Ultra 4 with a major focus on health and fitness tracking, potentially putting pressure on dedicated wearables such as Whoop.

The new Ultra 4 features Apple’s Health Sensing System, which the company says delivers the most accurate heart-rate sensing in a wearable.

It also measures heart rate every five seconds, tracks heart-rate variability more frequently, and introduces a new Readiness score designed to help users understand their recovery and physical condition.

The Apple Watch Ultra 4 also brings improved GPS accuracy, redesigned step tracking, and up to 45 hours of outdoor workout tracking, while starting at $799 in the US.

With these upgrades, Apple is moving further into territory traditionally dominated by fitness-focused devices such as Whoop.

While Whoop remains centered around recovery, sleep and strain insights, the Ultra 4 combines those health capabilities with smartwatch features, making the competition in the fitness wearable market even more intense.
