Haque also made a test video call by using 5G internet to China and he said it was a wonderful experience for him to connect via 5G. The voice was clear and loud; however, the video quality was wonderful, as per the reports of international media.
This modern technology will make great economic progress in the country, he added. GSM Association also estimates the economic contribution of mobile industry in the country, Pakistan that it will soon reach to over $24 billion by contributing 6.6% to the total GDP- gross domestic product by 2023.
The telecom authority said it, alongside the public authority, would distribute a Spectrum Master Plan and a Spectrum Rolling Strategy to empower administrators to design their interests in a more proficient way. In Pakistan around 98% of households own a mobile phone; however, the penetration of mobile services has reached to 81.1% at an end of the month of October 2020, with mobile subscriptions of 172.3 million.
