World’s First 3-D Printed Hotel Set to Open this Year.

The world’s first 3D printed hotel will be constructed in Texas by 2023 at a location called Marfa, thanks to a partnership between Danish design firm BIG and hospitality industry veteran Liz Lambert, a pioneer in the 3D construction industry.

The famed Danish architects behind stunning architectural marvels like the VM Houses and Mountain Dwelling housing complex in Copenhagen.

The hotel will be constructed employing contemporary technology on the same piece of property as El Cosmico, a well-liked camping area in Marfa.

The expansion will transform the 21-acre site into a 62-acre desert oasis, featuring a large infinity pool with cabanas and guest accommodations. Icon’s efficient house-sized 3D printer will produce these mesmerizing locations, nearly tripling the area of the original site.

The building process used by Icon combines a Vulcan printer with a Magma mobile mixing machine. The construction material, Lavacrete, is produced by Magma after being created and put through rigorous testing by Icon’s materials science team.

As a result, the new lodgings will be sturdy and dependable, guaranteeing that guests’ holidays won’t be hampered by subpar lodgings or amenities.

There is no information available regarding El Cosmico’s completion date, despite the BIG site indicating that the complex should be finished by 2023. But one thing is for certain—when it’s over, it will be entertaining to see.
