According to the sources, Shaukat Tarin, the Federal finance minister has recently chaired an Economic Coordination Committee- ECC session where he highlighted that the phase II of Ehsaas Kifalat program has around 8 million beneficiaries each of whom will receive Rs12,000 in cash aid.
The session took place after the recent survey by the government of Pakistan which learned that around 4 million more households are below the poverty line; however, these are in dire need of the financial assistance in order to subsist the circumstances.
In this phase II of Kifalat program, the beneficiaries will also be doled out with Rs12,000 in aid for about six months starting from January to June.
Moreover, the session concluded that this Phase two of the program with an addition of beneficiaries from survey will cost a kitty Rs.48 billion, as per the source.
