The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has taken action against food safety violations in Lahore, confiscating 800 kilograms of spoiled chicken from a suspicious vehicle on Jaranwala Road. Three individuals were arrested and are facing criminal charges for their involvement in the illegal distribution of unsafe food products.
Acting on a tip from a concerned citizen, PFA officials intercepted the vehicle around 11 PM and discovered the large quantity of dead chicken. The chicken was intended for distribution to markets across the city, but was deemed unfit for human consumption due to its poor condition.
The PFA officials destroyed the chicken onsite to prevent it from entering the food supply chain and potentially harming consumers. This incident highlights the risks associated with illegal poultry distribution and the importance of food safety regulations.
The arrested individuals are believed to be part of a larger network involved in the illegal food trade, and legal actions have been initiated against them under food safety laws. The PFA is committed to ensuring the safety of food products in Punjab and will continue to take strict action against those who violate food safety regulations.
