A big fire broke out in a tall shopping mall on Rashid Minhas Road in Karachi. The mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, confirmed at least nine people died.
The fire started around 6:30 am and spread to the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors due to a problem with the mall’s generator on the roof.
More than 50 people who were stuck inside were saved by using two special vehicles and eight fire trucks. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, and eight of them are in serious condition. Rescue efforts are still going on to help more people who might be trapped.
