The Worldstar Largest Cruise Ship, 5-Times the Size of the Titanic to Start Sailing in January 2024

Set for its first journey on January 27, 2024, the world’s largest cruise ship, ‘Icon of the Seas,’ is about to embark on its maiden voyage with Royal Caribbean. Surpassing the current record-holder, ‘Wonder of the Seas,’ this impressive vessel features 18 passenger decks, seven swimming pools, and an extensive selection of over 40 restaurants and bars. With a capacity for 5,610 guests, the ship has a substantial gross tonnage of 250,800.

‘Icon of the Seas’ introduces groundbreaking features, including the largest cruise ship water park, setting it apart in luxury and entertainment. The ship is divided into eight unique “neighbourhoods,” each offering distinct experiences, entertainment, and a variety of food and beverage options. These neighbourhoods aim to set records, with Thrill Island hosting the largest cruise ship water park, featuring the industry’s first open free-fall slide at sea and the tallest drop slide.

Other notable features include Chill Island, offering ocean-view pools and a frozen cocktail bar, and The Hideaway, which houses the first suspended infinity pool at sea. This area is surrounded by a multi-level sun terrace, complete with whirlpools and a beach bar, enhancing the overall luxury experience on board the ‘Icon of the Seas.’
