The Punjab government has introduced an online system for people to apply for a learner driving license throughout the province, aiming to make the process more convenient for citizens.
This decision came about because there were large crowds at the offices where licenses are issued. The caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, initiated the online service after receiving complaints about network problems and slow procedures during his visits to various offices in Lahore.
To apply for a learner driving license online, individuals need to follow these steps:
- Create an account on the DLIMS licensing website by signing up.
- Fill out the application form.
- Upload necessary documents, including a scanned copy/picture of the original CNIC’s front and back sides.
- For applicants above 50 years old, include a medical certificate signed by a government doctor.
- Generate a PSID (Payment Slip ID) and pay the required fee through ATM, online banking, or mobile banking channels.
This online system aims to streamline the application process and reduce the inconvenience caused by long queues and network issues at physical offices.
