Construction of Six Mini Dams Approved

The Punjab Small Dams Organization has given the green light for the survey and construction of six new small dams in the Rawalpindi division.

About Rs15 million has been set aside for the survey, expected to finish in the next two months. Afterward, construction of these dams is set to begin around May or June 2024.

These dams will be built in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Attock, and Jhelum districts, benefiting around 5,000 to 20,000 acres of land and providing drinking water to residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Additionally, new amusement parks will be established near these dams.

Furthermore, approval has been granted for the Kotli Sattian Dam in Tehsil Kotli Sattian of the recently formed Murree district, known for its impressive mountain peaks.

Plans for the Papin Dam in Chak Beli Khan, Rawalpindi, and approvals for Khori Dam, Sora Dam, Attock, Ahmad Dal Dam, and Khor Dam are also in progress.
