Fly Jinnah Becomes First Airline for Operations During Fog

Fly Jinnah, having commenced operations in November 2022, has swiftly emerged as a prominent player in Pakistan’s aviation sector. The airline recently secured approval from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for the operation of CAT III approaches, arrivals, and departures.

Distinguishing itself as the sole domestic airline with CAT III certification for its entire fleet and pilots, Fly Jinnah is now well-equipped to navigate efficiently in challenging visibility conditions, particularly during fog that often occurs between major cities in Pakistan.

The CAT III certification, an integral part of the Instrument Landing System (ILS), plays a crucial role in facilitating landing operations in scenarios of low visibility. This certification significantly bolsters Fly Jinnah’s capability to navigate and operate seamlessly in adverse weather conditions.

In the preceding year, the federal cabinet granted Fly Jinnah authorization for international operations, a decision based on the recommendation of the Aviation Ministry. The airline has ambitious plans to extend its services to overseas destinations, encompassing countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.

Beyond its CAT III certification achievement, Fly Jinnah has earned recognition from the CAA for its leadership in domestic flight punctuality. Notably, the airline achieved an impressive on-time departure rate of 87.93%, outperforming competitors like Air Sial, Air Blue, and Serene Airlines. These milestones position Fly Jinnah as a key player in the aviation landscape, well-prepared for both domestic and international operations.
