Quetta Records Coldest Night of Current Winter Season Temperature Drops to -5° C

As a cold breeze swept through Quetta, the temperatures dropped significantly, causing the water in pipelines and on roads to freeze. This freezing phenomenon exacerbated the already cold weather that had gripped the majority of Balochistan province, making conditions even more challenging for residents.

Simultaneously, following a period of heavy rainfall, the skies cleared over Quetta and neighboring areas. This clearing of the skies brought a change in weather conditions, albeit not necessarily a relief from the cold temperatures.

Saturday’s weather across various regions of Pakistan was characterized by persistent rain, thunderstorms, and significant snowfall. These weather patterns affected areas such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, northern Punjab, and Balochistan. Similarly, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan were anticipating substantial precipitation in the form of both rain and snow.

In response to the severe weather conditions, authorities issued advisories urging residents to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay updated on weather forecasts from reliable sources. This precautionary measure was essential to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals amidst the challenging weather conditions.

Emergency services were also placed on high alert to address any emergencies that may arise as a result of the severe weather. This readiness included ensuring swift responses to incidents such as road accidents, medical emergencies, or instances of infrastructure damage caused by the adverse weather conditions.

The elaborate response and measures taken by authorities underscored the seriousness of the weather situation and aimed to minimize any potential risks or hazards posed to the public.
