As Ramadan approaches in less than a week, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced changes to its gas supply schedule for the holy month, which may be affected by load-shedding.
According to a statement issued by the SSGC, gas will be available for consumers only during specific hours: from 3:00 am to 9:00 am for Sahar and from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm for Iftaar during Ramadan. Consumers in Sindh and Balochistan will have access to gas for essential needs for a total of 13 hours.
In a related development, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has instructed electricity distribution companies to avoid load-shedding during Sahar and Iftar times. This directive was issued during a meeting chaired by the chief minister to discuss price control measures for Ramadan.
During the meeting, attended by officials including Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, the chief secretary, and the IG Police, Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the province during Ramadan. He specifically directed K-Electric, HESCO, and SEPCO to ensure stable electricity supply during the holy month.
