Ishaq Dar Becomes Foreign Minister of Pakistan

After President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath on Monday, Ishaq Dar from the PML-N party became the new Minister of Foreign Affairs in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s 19-member federal cabinet.

Earlier that day, PM Shehbaz submitted a list to President Zardari with names for his cabinet, including 18 federal ministers and one minister of state.

Even though PPP is a main ally of PML-N, they decided not to join the federal cabinet. The oath-taking ceremony took place at the President House in Islamabad, starting with the national anthem and then a recitation from the Holy Quran.
