PCB Decides to Appoint Gary Kirsten, Jason Gillespie as Coaches

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed its selection of Gary Kirsten from South Africa and Jason Gillespie from Australia as coaches for the men’s national cricket team. Kirsten will oversee white-ball coaching duties, while Gillespie will handle red-ball coaching responsibilities.

The formal announcement of these appointments is pending completion of necessary procedures, with positions advertised on the PCB website and applications accepted until April 15. This decision comes ahead of the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand, slated to begin on April 18.

Looking forward, the Pakistan cricket team gears up for the T20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies in June.

These coaching roles opened up after Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick transitioned to roles at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore following PCB structural changes in November 2023. The trio stepped down officially in January of this year.

Arthur assumed the position of Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team in April 2023, Bradburn served as head coach of the Pakistan national men’s side, and former South Africa cricketer Puttick worked as a batting coach starting from April 2023.
