Tesla CEO Elon Musk Postponed Highly Anticipated Trip to India

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has decided to postpone his much-anticipated visit to India due to important responsibilities at Tesla that require his immediate attention.

Originally scheduled for April 21 and April 22, Musk’s visit was expected to include meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the announcement of Tesla’s plans to enter the large Indian market.

Musk shared the news of the delay through a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. He expressed his regret over the change, stating, “Unfortunately, my heavy responsibilities at Tesla mean that I need to postpone my visit to India. However, I am eagerly looking forward to visiting later this year.”

There is speculation that the initial timing of Musk’s trip to India coincided with his planned call with Tesla investors and analysts.

During his proposed two-day visit, Musk intended to meet with Modi, as well as executives from space start-ups. Additionally, he planned to unveil Tesla’s plans for a significant investment in India, estimated to be between $2–3 billion. Reports suggest that Tesla aimed to establish a factory to manufacture entry-level electric cars, potentially including the Model 2.
