Position: General Manager (Human Resources)

Responsibilities

The General Manager (Human Resources) will play a crucial role in shaping the HR strategy of NTDC. The key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the HR strategy formulation in consultation with senior management to align HR efforts with NTDC’s vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Ensuring HR policies and procedures comply with the company’s strategic objectives, labor laws, and best global HR practices.
  • Developing a human resource philosophy to guide the company’s HR management actions.
  • Creating and implementing HR policies, organizational structures, training systems, and performance management systems.
  • Reviewing and improving recruitment, selection methodologies, and compensation structures.
  • Leading and managing the HR department, facilitating change management, and ensuring effective implementation of HR strategies.
  • Developing a competency framework to enhance employee skills and align them with organizational requirements.
  • Implementing a robust HR Management Information System (ERP-SAP) for informed decision-making.
  • Handling employee relations and negotiations, dealing with CBA/unions, and encouraging their participation in change initiatives.

Location and Reporting

The position is based in Lahore, Pakistan, and reports directly to the Managing Director of NTDC. The selected candidate will work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the implementation and monitoring of all HR functions.

Qualifications, Experience, and Age

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Law, Social Sciences, or an equivalent degree in Engineering from an accredited institution recognized by HEC, Pakistan.
  • At least 20 years of relevant professional experience at management level positions, including three years at a senior HR management position reporting directly to the head of the organization.
  • Preference for candidates with higher qualifications, foreign qualifications, membership in professional HR bodies, experience in corporate restructuring, multinational organizations, or overseas experience.
  • The candidate should be up to 55 years of age as of the closing date of the advertisement. NTDC officers fulfilling other prerequisites can apply, except for the upper age limit.

Professional Skills

The successful candidate must demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership, change management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in office software like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Tenure and Remuneration

NTDC offers a market-competitive remuneration package, negotiable based on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be initially offered a three-year contract, extendable annually upon satisfactory performance. Annual increments will be based on performance evaluations as per company policy.
