Suzuki Motor Corporation plans to set up a biogas plant in Karachi to support Pakistan’s car industry. They aim to use food waste and animal manure to produce renewable energy.
Kenichi Ayukawa, the Global Vice President, shared this plan during a meeting with Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain. The government promises to assist Suzuki in their business activities and expansion in Pakistan. They acknowledge the importance of the automotive sector for creating jobs, boosting the economy, and transferring technology.
To encourage local production and the use of new technologies like electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrids, incentives will be given. This aims to increase manufacturing within Pakistan and enhance exports from the automotive sector.
