Karachi Heatwave! 1592 People Admitted to Jinnah Hospital During Last 24 Hours

Karachi is currently enduring a severe heatwave, causing a significant number of heat-related illnesses and fatalities. Over the past 24 hours, Jinnah Hospital has admitted 1,592 patients suffering from heat effects. Tragically, 20 of these patients have died, and an additional 29 people were brought to the hospital already deceased.

The intense heat in the city is primarily due to a suspended sea breeze, which typically helps moderate temperatures. According to the MET Office, the hot weather is expected to persist until tomorrow.

On Monday, Karachi experienced its hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures soaring to 42°C. The extreme heat has prompted authorities to issue warnings to residents. They are advised to avoid sun exposure between 10 AM and 4 PM, when the sun’s rays are most intense and potentially harmful.

Medical professionals are urging people to stay hydrated, remain indoors as much as possible, and take precautions to avoid heatstroke and other heat-related conditions.

With the current forecast indicating no immediate relief, it is crucial for the community to stay informed and take necessary steps to protect their health during this heatwave.
