A major gas discovery has been made at the Razgir-1 Exploratory Well in Kohat District by the TAL Joint Venture. This partnership includes several companies: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), MOL Pakistan Oil & Gas Co. B.V., Pakistan Petroleum Limited, Pakistan Oilfields Limited, and Government Holdings Private Limited.
The well was drilled to a depth of 3,773.98 meters. It has produced around 16.4 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD) and 159 barrels of condensate per day (BPD). This significant find came from the Kawagarh-1 Formation.
This discovery is a significant boost for exploration activities in the TAL Block. It also strengthens Pakistan’s local hydrocarbon supply, which is essential for the country’s energy needs. The success at Razgir-1 highlights the potential for further discoveries in the region and emphasizes the importance of ongoing exploration efforts.
