The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has put to rest any doubts about the venues for the upcoming Test series against England. The series, which kicks off on October 7, faced uncertainty due to ongoing renovations at several stadiums, leading to speculation that the matches might be moved to the UAE.
England’s head coach, Brendon McCullum, had voiced frustration over the lack of venue confirmation, noting that it was causing delays in selecting the team.
Naqvi addressed these concerns directly, confirming that the Test series will indeed take place in Pakistan. The matches will be held in Multan and Rawalpindi, and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has been informed and is satisfied with these arrangements.
In addition to the series, Naqvi also announced that Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. Despite some uncertainty about India’s participation in the tournament, the event is set to proceed as planned.
The Test series against England is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 and will run from October 7 to 28. Naqvi’s statements aim to reassure fans and stakeholders that Pakistan is prepared to host these significant international cricket events smoothly.
