Petrol Prices Likely to Drop by Rs. 10 from September 16

Pakistanis may soon get some relief as petrol and diesel prices are expected to drop again in the next price review on September 15. According to reports, the price of both petrol and high-speed diesel could decrease by around Rs10 per litre, unless the government decides to raise the petroleum levy.

This potential price cut comes after a recent drop in global oil prices, which have fallen by about $5 per barrel. Currently, petrol is being sold at Rs259.1 per litre, and diesel is priced at Rs262.75 per litre.

If the reduction happens, it could help ease the financial strain on middle and lower-income families, who are facing rising living costs due to inflation.

However, the impact on transportation fares and the prices of essential goods may not be immediate, as businesses and transporters often take time to adjust their rates.

Many people hope this change will bring down the cost of daily necessities and make commuting more affordable. It’s also seen as a small step towards reducing inflation, which has been hitting households hard.

However, if the government increases the petroleum levy, the price drop may not be as significant, potentially limiting the relief for consumers.
