Pakistan’s Textile Exports Hit $2.9 Billion in Last Two Months

In the first two months of the fiscal year 2024-25, Pakistan’s textile exports grew by 5.37%, reaching $2.915 billion compared to $2.766 billion during the same period last year, as reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

Overall, the country’s exports increased by 14.42%, totaling $5.069 billion. Specifically, textile exports saw a notable rise, with August 2024 showing a 12.99% increase compared to the previous year and a significant 29.36% increase from the previous month.

Despite this overall growth, cotton yarn exports experienced a decline, dropping by 45.21% year-on-year and 1.64% month-on-month. On a brighter note, rice exports surged dramatically by 98.58% compared to the previous year, reaching $464.667 million.

In August, the key export items included knitwear, ready-made garments, and rice, reflecting diverse areas of strength in Pakistan’s export sector.
