Pakistan and China Begin Joint Air Exercise ‘Shaheen-IX’

On Friday, Chief of the Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Operational Base of PAF and observed the Pakistan-China joint Air Exercise ‘Shaheen-IX’, according to a report by the Public Relations Inter-Services (ISPR).

Major General Babar Iftikhar, Director-General of ISPR tweeted:

“COAS today visited the Pakistan Air Force Operational Base to observe Pakistan-China Joint Air Exercise ‘Shaheen-IX’. Shaheen-IX is ninth in the PAF & PLAAF joint exercise series that began in 2011 and is conducted on an alternating basis in Pakistan & China.”

Speaking to the participants in the exercise, the COAS claimed that joint training undertakings are necessary in order to improve the fighting capability of the air forces of both countries in the face of emerging geostrategic challenges and to increase their interoperability with greater strength and harmony.

The Army Chief also lauded the competence and dedication of the PAF and stressed the need for unity and synergy in order to achieve operational success.

He stated, “Putting the cutting edge of PAF aside, what makes it second-to-none is its staff’s high morale and thorough professionalism.”
