Eight Former PIA Employees to get Rs 200 Million in ‘Unfair Dismissal’ Compensation

Eight former employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have won a court case in London for unfair dismissal, receiving £500,000, which is about Rs 200 million, as compensation. These employees were let go two years ago after working for PIA between 5 to 15 years. They argued that their dismissals were not fair, and after a legal struggle, the court agreed with them.

The court decided in favor of the former employees and instructed PIA to pay them the compensation. The airline has accepted this ruling and agreed to make the payment.

This court decision is a major win for the former employees, as it highlights the importance of labor rights and fair treatment in the workplace. It serves as a reminder that employees should be treated fairly and justly, regardless of their position or how long they have worked for a company.

The case also sends a message to other employers about the need to uphold fair employment practices and respect workers’ rights. This outcome could encourage other employees facing similar issues to seek justice and hold their employers accountable for unfair treatment.
