The government has announced an increase in petroleum prices, raising the price of petrol by Rs. 2.10 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Re. 0.30 per litre.
The revised rates will remain effective from October 3 to October 5, adding further pressure on consumers already facing elevated transportation and fuel costs.
Following the adjustment, the price of petrol has reached Rs. 392.76 per litre, while high-speed diesel will now be available at Rs. 399.64 per litre.
The increase is expected to affect motorists as well as businesses and industries that rely heavily on fuel for transportation, logistics and daily operations.
The latest revision comes amid continued fluctuations in international oil prices and changing conditions in global energy markets.
Higher domestic fuel prices can also influence transportation fares and the cost of goods and services, as increased fuel expenses are often reflected across supply chains.
The new rates will apply during the announced three-day period, after which the government may review petroleum prices again.
