Relief is on the way for Pakistanis waiting for their passports, as improvements to the system are set to increase production. Recently, the government announced the arrival of 10 high-tech printing machines from abroad, which are expected to be up and running by next week.
These new machines will double the daily passport production rate, helping reduce wait times for applicants across the country. Currently, around 22,000 passports are printed each day, but this will soon increase to meet the growing demand. With roughly 50,000 applications submitted daily, the demand for faster processing has become urgent. The issue even reached the National Assembly, where officials discussed ways to tackle the delays and meet public needs more efficiently.
The government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is committed to speeding up the process to keep up with the demand. As passport production rises to meet the daily applications, many applicants can expect shorter waiting times.
This upgrade to the passport printing system is a welcome development, ensuring that Pakistanis waiting for travel documents will see faster and more efficient service soon.
