Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has joined hands with Netracon Technologies Ltd. to build the province’s first independent power transmission line, a 40-kilometer, 132/220 KV line stretching from Matiltan to Madian. This ambitious project, estimated to cost Rs8 billion, is set to be completed within 18 months.
The new line will help in the distribution of power from the 84 MW Matiltan Hydropower Project and support other energy programs in the region. This transmission line will enable the province to supply electricity to the national grid or local industries at more affordable rates, creating an efficient system that lowers costs for consumers.
Expected to generate around Rs7 billion each year, this project represents the first phase of the Swat Corridor Transmission Line. The second phase will expand the line further, from Madian to Chakdara, enhancing the region’s power infrastructure and aiming for greater energy independence for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
