A new report projects that by 2050, Islam will become the world’s largest religion, surpassing others due to higher birth rates and a younger demographic. India is expected to have the largest Muslim population, with over 310 million Muslims, while Hinduism will remain the dominant religion in the country.
In Europe, Islam’s growth will remain steady, while regions such as Sub-Saharan Africa and parts of Asia will experience significant increases in Muslim populations. By mid-century, Islam and Christianity will represent two-thirds of the global population, signaling a shift in global religious dynamics.
