PakSat International, Pakistan’s national satellite operator and DynaSys Networks, a technology company with a cutting-edge Internet of Things ecosystem today announced that they have successfully operationalized IoT over PakSat’s satellite communications network. This is the first time in Pakistan, that IoT has been made operational over any satellite communications network using LoRaWAN technology.
Multiple use cases were activated through a Ka-band satcom terminal deployed over the recently launched PakSat MM1 satellite at 38.2 degrees East in the Geostationary Earth Orbit. A LoRaWAN network was created between the sensors and the LoRaWAN gateway, with the gateway receiving internet connectivity though the satellite terminal. The sensors continued to successfully transmit accurate data, at the configured intervals, to DynaSys’ IoT platform which has its own embedded LoRaWAN Network Server.
