The Sindh government has taken a major step to improve the lives of elderly citizens by launching Pakistan’s first-ever Senior Citizen Card. This initiative aims to support individuals aged 60 and above by providing them with various benefits to make their lives easier and more comfortable. The card, introduced in partnership with NADRA, will grant senior citizens access to essential services such as healthcare facilities, travel benefits, and other basic amenities.

Sindh’s Social Welfare Minister, Mir Tariq Ali Khan Talpur, highlighted the importance of this program, stating that it reflects the government’s dedication to ensuring that senior citizens are treated with respect and dignity. The Senior Citizen Card will also act as an identification tool for elderly individuals, helping them easily avail these services across the province.

In addition to this, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has announced another important initiative for low-income families. He revealed plans for a free health insurance program that will include a health card offering coverage of up to Rs. 500,000. This initiative is particularly aimed at improving access to medical care for economically vulnerable citizens, ensuring they receive the treatment they need without financial stress.

Both programs are expected to significantly improve the quality of life for Sindh’s elderly population and those struggling with limited incomes. By offering financial relief, better healthcare, and access to essential services, the government hopes to create a more supportive and dignified environment for older people and the underprivileged. This marks a positive step toward building a society that values and cares for its most vulnerable members.
