IG Sindh Announces Seizure of Unlicensed Vehicles and Motorcycles in Karachi

To enhance road safety and reduce traffic issues, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has introduced a new policy to seize vehicles and motorcycles driven without a valid license in Karachi.

Memon highlighted the role of untrained drivers in causing traffic jams, emphasizing that many accidents and delays occur due to improper driving. The police will now enforce stricter rules, aiming to improve driver discipline and road behavior.

As part of this effort, a system will be put in place to monitor and track repeat offenders. Those caught driving without a license multiple times will face legal action.

The initiative also aims to ensure accountability within the police force. Officers who fail to file cases in a timely manner will face disciplinary actions. Memon made it clear that Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) will be held responsible for any cases that are not registered, reinforcing the importance of strict enforcement.

This move is a part of broader efforts to streamline traffic management and make Karachi’s roads safer for all.

By addressing the root causes of road accidents and delays, the authorities hope to create a more organized traffic system that reduces risk and improves overall public safety.
