Tiktok Officially Suspends Services in US

TikTok has gone offline in the United States just hours before a new law banning the app was set to take effect.

Users in the US received a notification explaining that the law had been enforced, which meant the platform is now temporarily unavailable. The message also mentioned that former President Donald Trump, who is set to take office again, plans to work on a solution to restore access to TikTok.

This situation arose after TikTok warned it would shut down in the US unless the Biden administration provided guarantees that the ban would not be carried out. However, with no such assurances given, the platform has now ceased operations.

Donald Trump has stated that he will likely grant TikTok a 90-day extension once he returns to office, giving the app a temporary lifeline.

As a result of the ban, TikTok has also been removed from the Apple and Google app stores in the United States, preventing new downloads or updates for users in the country.

The situation has left millions of TikTok users waiting for further updates on the platform’s future.
