Sindh Threads Separate Cricket Board Over Player Discrimination

Sindh’s Provincial Sports Minister, Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar, has stirred controversy by saying that Sindh might establish its own separate cricket board. His remarks come just before the ICC Champions Trophy and highlight concerns about the lack of opportunities for cricketers from Sindh.

While speaking at a provincial youth conference, Mahar expressed his disappointment with the current cricket system. He believes that players from Sindh do not get the recognition they deserve in the national team. He emphasized that cricket is not just for Punjab or Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa—it is just as important in Sindh.

Mahar further argued that many skilled and talented players from Sindh are being ignored despite their abilities. According to him, these players are not given a fair chance to represent Pakistan, which he considers unjust for Sindh’s cricketing community. He urged the authorities to ensure equal opportunities for all players, regardless of which province they come from.
