The Punjab cabinet, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has approved several important initiatives, including a Rs30 billion Ramadan package and the recruitment of nearly 6,000 new constables.
As part of the Nigahban Ramadan program, low-income families will receive Rs10,000 each. The amount will be provided through ATM cards and delivered directly to their homes to make the process easier.
The cabinet has also introduced a new policy to attract more investment in Punjab. By simplifying bureaucratic procedures, the government aims to turn the province into a center for industrial growth and development.
To improve the public transport system, the cabinet has approved free travel for senior citizens and special individuals. Additionally, a student travel card will be introduced to make transportation more affordable for students.
In the healthcare sector, Rs580 million has been set aside to purchase a cryoablation machine, which will be used for advanced cancer treatment.
The government has also decided to upgrade special education centers to ensure better accessibility for students with disabilities.
These steps reflect the Punjab government’s focus on social welfare, economic growth, and improved public services.
