‘He is a Clown’, Former Pakistan Test Coach Jason Gillespie Slams Aaqib Javed

Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie, who resigned as Pakistan’s Test head coach last December, recently criticized Pakistan’s interim head coach Aaqib Javed. Gillespie called Javed a “clown” in a social media post, expressing frustration over Javed’s public push for a permanent coaching role across all formats of the game.

The disagreement between the two coaches became public after Javed complained that Pakistan’s poor performance was due to frequent changes in management and team personnel. Javed argued that the lack of stability had a negative impact on the players and their overall performance.

Pakistan, the host nation of the ongoing Champions Trophy, had a disappointing run in the tournament. They were eliminated in the group stage after suffering defeats against New Zealand and India. To make matters worse, their last match against Bangladesh was washed out due to bad weather, leaving fans and players disheartened.

Gillespie, who previously led Pakistan’s Test team, seemed unhappy with Javed’s approach and his open campaigning for a full-time coaching position. His blunt response added to the growing tension and highlighted the ongoing struggles within Pakistan’s cricket management.

The situation has sparked discussions among cricket fans and experts, with many wondering what changes Pakistan Cricket might make to improve stability and performance moving forward.
