Good News for Applicants Waiting for their Passport

Pakistan has taken a major step to speed up passport processing, bringing relief to thousands of applicants facing delays. New high-tech e-passport printers have arrived in Karachi, aiming to clear the backlog and improve efficiency.

The latest equipment, imported from Germany, includes two e-passport printers and six desktop printers. These machines will significantly increase production capacity, ensuring that passports are issued faster than before. A team of foreign experts has also arrived to oversee the installation and ensure smooth operations.

Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, personally inspected the new machines and received a briefing on their functionality. He emphasized that the advanced printers can produce up to 1,000 passports per hour, reducing waiting times for applicants.

With passport demand increasing, this development is expected to ease the pressure on the system. The government had previously upgraded its passport issuance process by introducing modern printers, which doubled daily production capacity. Now, with the addition of these new machines, the department is set to process applications even more efficiently.

This move is a positive step for Pakistanis, especially those traveling abroad who have been waiting for their passports. Faster processing means shorter waiting times and better services, ensuring that applicants receive their passports without unnecessary delays.
