Pakistan on ‘Orange List’ as US Considers Travel Restrictions for 43 Countries – Here’s What It Means

The United States is considering imposing strict travel restrictions on citizens from 43 countries as part of its intensified immigration policies. According to reports, an internal government memo has categorized these nations into three groups, each facing different levels of restrictions.

Pakistan has been placed in the “orange list,” a category that may result in significant travel limitations for tourists and immigrants. However, business visas are expected to remain available for wealthy investors and professionals.

Countries in the “red list,” such as Iran, North Korea, and Syria, could face a complete travel ban, barring their citizens from entering the United States altogether. Meanwhile, nations on the “yellow list” have been given a 60-day window to address specific concerns to avoid restrictions.

This potential move is seen as part of broader efforts to tighten US immigration controls. Following his second inauguration, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration, and the new travel policies appear to be an extension of that approach.

If implemented, these restrictions could impact thousands of travelers and families, particularly those from countries facing tougher visa requirements. While there has been no official confirmation on when the final decision will be made, affected nations may need to take diplomatic steps to address US concerns and avoid severe travel limitations.
