The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) has announced several job vacancies on a contract basis for a major government project. The project, titled “Accelerated Geological Mapping of Unmapped Outcrop Areas of Pakistan at 1:50,000 Scale (350 Toposheets) & Geological Investigations for Resource Mapping of Gemstones & Metallic Minerals in Potential Blocks of Gilgit-Baltistan 2024,” is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026.

1. Deputy Director (Field Geology) (PPS-8 / BPS-18)
- Qualification: M.Sc./BS in Geology or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Age Limit: 35 years (plus 5 years of general age relaxation)
- Vacancies: 5 (Open Merit)
- Salary Range: Rs. 218,750 – Rs. 350,030
2. Assistant Director (Field Geology) (PPS-7 / BPS-17)
- Qualification: M.Sc./BS in Geology or equivalent
- Experience: Preferably 3 years of relevant experience
- Age Limit: 30 years (plus 5 years of general age relaxation)
- Vacancies: 20 (Open Merit)
- Salary Range: Rs. 157,500 – Rs. 252,000
3. Deputy Director (GIS / Image Processing) (PPS-8 / BPS-18)

Important Details About the Positions
- The positions are contract-based and will not be regularized or extended beyond the project duration unless the project itself is extended.
- The maximum contract period is until June 30, 2026.
- Age and experience will be counted as of the closing date of applications.
