90,000 Pakistanis to Perform Hajj Under Official Scheme: Federal Minister

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, has announced that a total of 90,000 Pakistani citizens will be performing Hajj this year through the official government scheme.

During a press conference held in Lahore, the minister provided important details regarding the upcoming pilgrimage. He stated that Hajj flights from Pakistan will begin on April 29. Prior to departure, special training sessions for pilgrims will start on April 8. These sessions will include instructions on essential health protocols, as well as guidance on vaccination procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

The government has finalized the cost of Hajj packages for 2025. The short-term Hajj package will be priced at Rs11.5 lakh, while the long-term package will cost Rs10.5 lakh. These prices cover various services including travel, accommodation, and other logistical arrangements in both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Minister Yousaf also assured the public that there is strong and effective coordination with Saudi Arabian authorities to ensure that all aspects of the pilgrimage run smoothly. He explained that Umrah visas are temporarily suspended before the Hajj season begins, which helps manage the large number of pilgrims arriving in the Kingdom and ensures better organization.

He further emphasized the importance of discipline, preparation, and cooperation from all pilgrims. The Ministry of Religious Affairs is committed to providing comprehensive support and guidance to pilgrims throughout their journey, from the training phase to their return home.
