Iran launches ‘halal’ dating app

According to the Iran’s state television report, they are going to launch an official halal dating app, revealing the fact that they developed this Islamic dating application with the aim of benefiting their youth for “lasting and informed marriage”.

They named this apto benefitp as ‘Hamdam’ a Farsi word that means “companion”, which would allow its potential users to find and select their spouse, as per the broadcaster statement

According to Colonel Ali Mohammad Rajabi- Iran’s cyberspace police chief, this app is the only state-authorized and approved app of its kind in the country. While all the other apps apart from this one, that is working in the country is totally illegal, said Rajabi.

This app-Hamdam is developed by the ‘Tebyan Cultural Institute’ that is a segment of Iran’s Islamic Propaganda Organization, and this Hamdam’s app claims that it uses “artificial intelligence” to find perfect matches “only for bachelors finding permanent marriage & a single spouse”.

While speaking at the revealing ceremony of Hamdam app, Komeil Khojasteh-Tebyan head said family values were in danger due to the external forces. “Family is the devil’s target, & seek to impose their own ideas” on it, this app would helps to create “healthy” families, he added.

According to Hamdam’s platform, before allowing the user to use the app & browsing, they would have to go through a “psychology test” and would verify their identity. And when the perfect match will be found, the app “introduces the families with each other in the presence of service consultants”, who will “accompany” the couple for 4 years after marriage.

According to developers of the app, since Hamdam is “an independent revenue model,” that is why it has free- registration.

Also in March, Iran’s parliament had passed a bill “population growth & supporting families.” It order the Govt to offer substantial financial inducements for marriage & to encourage people to have more than 2 children, while limiting approach to abortion.

As well as Iran’s government authorities, involving the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have advised many times contrary to the country’s increasing age of marriage & decreasing of birth rates.
