CM Maryam Unveils Record Rs. 110 Billion Relief Package for Punjab’s Farmers

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a major relief package worth Rs110 billion to support wheat farmers—making it the largest package of its kind in the province’s history.

As part of the new Wheat Farmer Support Programme, Rs25 billion will be given directly to farmers. Each farmer will receive Rs5,000 for every acre of wheat they grow. This is a big step toward helping farmers reduce costs and improve their harvests.

In addition, flour mills are now required to buy 25% of their wheat directly from local farmers. This will help farmers sell their wheat more easily and earn better prices.

Farmers will also receive special discounts and support for buying tractors, using solar power for tube wells, and getting advanced tools like super seeders to make farming easier and more efficient.

To further encourage wheat production, the government will reward the top-producing wheat farmers with free tractors and cash prizes.

The Chief Minister also announced a Rs1.25 billion agriculture internship program that will train young people to help farmers. Cotton growers will benefit too, with Rs25,000 being given for each block of land they cultivate.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif called on all citizens to support sustainable and modern farming practices. She emphasized that helping farmers means building a stronger and greener Punjab for everyone.
