Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets Iranian Supreme Leader with Prime Minister

Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, recently visited Tehran for important meetings with Iran’s top military leaders. The main goal of the visit was to strengthen defense cooperation between the two neighboring countries and to discuss turning their shared border into a corridor for trade and economic activity.

During his visit, General Munir met with Major General Mohammad Bagheri, one of Iran’s most senior military officials. Their talks covered several key topics, including how to improve security along the Pak-Iran border, increase military collaboration, and promote peace and stability across the region.

Both Pakistan and Iran agreed that the long border they share should not only be secure but also serve as a gateway for trade and development. This vision is part of a broader effort to build stronger economic and political ties between the two countries.

The visit also comes shortly after Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif toured the region and held meetings with Iran’s top leadership, showing that both countries are making serious efforts to deepen their relationship on multiple fronts.

General Munir was warmly welcomed with a ceremonial guard of honor in Tehran, a gesture that reflects the importance Iran places on its growing relationship with Pakistan. This visit marks a step forward in efforts to build trust, improve border cooperation, and create new opportunities for mutual benefit between the two nations.
