MET Office Forecast Pre-Monsoon Across Pakistan after Intense Heatwave

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced that the country may soon get relief from the ongoing heatwave, as pre-monsoon rains are expected to begin this weekend.

According to the PMD, a new weather system will start affecting parts of Sindh from Saturday evening. Areas like Tharparkar and Umerkot are expected to receive rainfall, along with thunderstorms and strong winds. This change in weather is likely to bring some much-needed coolness after days of extreme heat.

On Sunday, more districts in Sindh — including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Jacobabad — may experience rain and dust storms. These weather conditions are expected to help lower the high temperatures and offer some comfort to people dealing with the hot and dry weather.

In addition to Sindh, other regions in Pakistan will also see changes in weather. Moist air currents from the Arabian Sea and a westerly wave are likely to cause rainfall in upper Punjab, parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Balochistan, and northern areas of the country. These rains are expected to continue through June 16.

The PMD has advised people to stay updated on weather forecasts and take safety precautions during thunderstorms and heavy rain. Sudden winds and rain may affect travel and outdoor activities, so it’s best to stay indoors when possible.

This upcoming spell of pre-monsoon rain is expected to ease the heat and improve overall weather conditions across Pakistan.
