Rawalpindi Announces Holiday Due to Rainfall Emergency and Urban Flooding

Due to nonstop heavy rain, the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi has declared a one-day holiday for the entire district to keep people safe. So far, Rawalpindi has received 199 mm of rain, and weather experts say that more heavy rain is likely in the coming hours.

Because of this situation, people living in Rawalpindi are being asked to stay inside their homes and not go out unless it is really necessary. Staying indoors will help everyone stay safe and make it easier for the city teams to do their work without any trouble.

Different city departments, including WASA, RWMC, and other district teams, are working day and night to handle problems caused by the heavy rain. They are clearing roads, managing drainage, and making sure that rainwater does not create more trouble for residents.

Officials have asked the public to fully cooperate during this time. People are requested not to step out unless there is an emergency and to keep an eye on weather updates. It is also advised to avoid areas that are flooded or where water is collecting on roads.

The heavy rainfall has caused water to collect in many streets and low-lying areas. Teams are using pumps and other equipment to remove the water and prevent damage. The Deputy Commissioner said that safety is the top priority, and everyone should help by following the instructions.

People are also reminded to stay in touch with local helplines if they need help or spot any emergency. Working together will help keep the city safe during this wet weather.
