Constable Haider Ali Given a Hero’s Funeral After Sacrificing his life While Saving 400 Lives in Jehlum Rescue Operation

A brave police constable gave his life while saving over 400 people who were stuck during sudden flash floods in Jhelum. The constable, Haider Ali Hussain, was helping people escape on a tractor trolley when it overturned in the Chotala area due to the strong floodwater. Sadly, he was swept away by the water. His body was found after 24 hours, and he was laid to rest with full honour and respect for his sacrifice.

Heavy rains have caused flash floods across Punjab, putting the whole province under emergency conditions. So far, the floods have taken 61 lives and left more than 260 people injured.

Many villages and towns in Jhelum, Sohawa, and Pind Dadan Khan have been badly affected, but rescue teams have worked day and night to help people. With the efforts of the police, army, and Rescue 1122 teams, more than 450 people and their animals have been rescued from dangerous areas.

Many leaders, including Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the Inspector General of Punjab Police, paid rich tribute to Constable Haider Ali Hussain. They said his sacrifice for the safety of others will always be remembered and honoured.

The government will support his family under the police martyrs’ package, which provides financial help and other benefits to the families of officers who give their lives in the line of duty.

His courage and dedication remind everyone of the bravery shown by many police officers who risk their lives every day to protect others, even in the worst situations.
