Tourists Rescued After Landslide Blocks Road to Saiful Muluk Lake

More than 60 tourist jeeps got stuck on the way to Saiful Muluk Lake after a sudden cloudburst caused a huge landslide in Naran, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The landslide happened late Friday night during heavy rain in the upper Kaghan Valley.

Rocks and mud covered the narrow mountain road, leaving many families, including women and children, trapped as they were heading back from the famous lake.

As soon as the news reached local authorities, the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) quickly started rescue work. Their Engineering One unit sent heavy machines and workers to remove the landslide debris from the road. Thanks to their fast action, the blocked road was cleared in just a few hours.

Officials later confirmed that all the trapped tourists were safely rescued and no one was hurt. People praised the rescue teams for acting quickly, which prevented a bigger problem in the difficult mountain area.

Cloudbursts and sudden landslides are common in this region during the rainy season and often cause trouble for tourists visiting scenic spots like Saiful Muluk Lake. The KDA has asked tourists to stay alert and check weather updates before planning their trips, especially when heavy rain is expected.

The rescue operation showed how important quick teamwork and good equipment are for saving lives during unexpected natural disasters. Tourists thanked the KDA staff for making sure they reached home safely despite the dangerous conditions.
