WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will let users talk to Meta AI using real-time voice chats. This update is designed to help people who are busy, driving, or have trouble typing, making it easier for them to use AI without having to write messages.
The new feature is currently available for some beta testers using iPhones through version 25.21.10.76 on TestFlight. If testing goes well, WhatsApp plans to make it available for more users in the coming weeks.
With this new option, people can start a voice chat with Meta AI by tapping the small waveform icon in the Chats section or from the Calls tab. Once the voice session starts, the screen will show helpful prompts to guide the conversation. Users will also be able to send images during the chat if they need to.
One big advantage of this new tool is that users can keep the voice chat running in the background while they open other apps on their phone. This means they can continue getting help from Meta AI without stopping what they’re doing.
WhatsApp says the goal of this feature is to make AI more convenient for everyone, whether they are on the move, working on something else, or simply prefer speaking instead of typing.
This new voice chat option is part of WhatsApp’s larger plan to add more AI-powered tools to its platform and make everyday tasks easier for its millions of users around the world.
